My two-year-old son has multiple food allergies: soy, peanut, egg, and milk. I'm always looking for new recipes and new products that he can eat and will like.
ReplyDeleteLeighann, Bob's processes soy and nuts in their plant (no longer peanuts but they say they can's promise there isn't cross contamination). Just FYI. We have soy/peanut/tree nut allergies at my house and can't use Bob's products.
ReplyDeleteI like Bob's gluten free oat bran.

ReplyDeleteMy best tip for eating healthy is portion control and eating slowly. I found that using a smaller plate helps me control the amount of food I take in, and eating it slowly satisfies me without feeling stuffed. Thanks.

I haven't tried these products yet. As for eating healthy, I try to stick to the perimeter of the grocery store. That's where the produce, and proteins are located.

ReplyDeleteAll good suggestions! You all rock!
ReplyDeleteAlways eat most carbs in the morning or after your workout; it's when they are best utilized and most beneficial for your body! Also the darker your green veggies are the better :) And just saying, Bob's Red Mill organic coconut flour is great!
ReplyDeleteI had never even heard of Bob's products until Kim mentioned it here, so I can't say that I have a favorite - but some sound pretty yummy! As for eating healthier I've done weight watchers a couple of times and learned some great tips...plenty of water, control your portions, be aware of what you are putting into your mouth, eat lots of fruits & veggies; the list goes on. But most important is don't set yourself up for failure by calling your healthier eating habits a diet. Make it a lifestyle change. :)
ReplyDeleteI only drink water and try to cut out all bread!

ReplyDelete@Anon... Gluten is a protein in certain grains. It's what makes dough stretchy. Most people who have sensitivities to it end up with upset stomachs, bloating, gas, and other unpleasant symptoms. Here's some more information: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/celiac-disease/DS00319/DSECTION=symptoms
